The importance of PPC and Search Engine Marketing
Search engines play a very important role in today's online business. The most of people who go online and need to look for various products or services, they search them on search engines. Google and Yahoo are leading search engines. Those search engines also send a great amount of traffic to various websites that offer the services or products searched by users.
Search engine executives have understood the marketing potential of search engines and have started to offer their Search Engine Marketing (SEM) programs. Of late Google and Yahoo have become great platforms to advertise or market your product.
There are various reasons why SEM is better that traditional online marketing. Other ways to advertise online include putting ad banners on websites and generating traffic to your website and selling your product. But it is not as much effective as SEM. People who go to search engines looking for a product are more likely to buy it as they are looking for it actively. Search engines put the advertisements of products on the right side of the search result pages as “sponsored links.” Thus people are most likely to click on those text ads and go to the website of the advertiser and buy the product being sold. This is different from the traditional banner advertising as these ads may also be shown to people who may not be actively looking for the product advertised.
Another benefit of SEM is that your pay money only when a user clicks on the text ad of your product. If the user only sees your text ad without clicking on it then you do not need to pay anything to search engines.
